The Bihar government is developing tourist places in the state and has identified several places falling under Ramayana circuit, said Sultan Ahmed, Minister of State for Tourism, Govt. of India said recently. In a written reply in Lok Sabha, Ahmed said, "Projects for the development of tourist amenities in such places are being made in a phase-wise manner for the overall development of this circuit." Haleshwar Sthan at Sitamarhi, Girija Sthan, Phulhar at Madhubani and Ahilya Sthan, Kamtaual at Darbhanga, Ram Rekha Ghat at Buxar are some of the schemes that have been sanctioned by the state government, he said. "As per information received from Government of Bihar, few places in Madhubani and Darbhanga districts such as Girija Sthan, Phulhar and Ahilya Sthan, Kamtaul, Darbhanga have also been identified and projects have also been sanctioned," said the Minister.
