Pratibha Singh, Member of Parliament (MP), Himachal Pradesh (HP) has sought a financial assistance of Rs 100 crore from the Central government to develop tourism infrastructure in the state, an official statement said this week, reported the IANS. Singh raised these issues during a recent meeting with Dr K Chiranjeevi, Minister of State with Independent Charge for Tourism in New Delhi. Singh also urged the Ministry of Tourism (MoT), Government of India to run a special campaign under ‘Incredible India’ to promote all Himalayan states, even in foreign countries.

The Himachal Pradesh government is planning to diversify its tourism, to include rural areas of the state. As part of this effort, activities of various departments of Tourism and Rural Development would be merged to develop infrastructure in rural areas, Prem Kumar Dhumal, Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh said.

In order to attract tourists to Himachal Pradesh (HP), the state government has decided to develop Aadi Himani Chamunda Dham near Dharamshala as its next religious tourist destination on the lines of Shri Vaishno Devi and Shri Amar Nath shrines.
