In order to attract tourists to Himachal Pradesh (HP), the state government has decided to develop Aadi Himani Chamunda Dham near Dharamshala as its next religious tourist destination on the lines of Shri Vaishno Devi and Shri Amar Nath shrines.
Prem Kumar Dhumal, Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh informed this at Dharamshala after taking an aerial survey of Aadi Himani Chamunda Dham in the Kangra district, earlier this week. "Possibilities are exploited to connect the place with rope way and a survey is conducted for the same," he added. He said that efforts would be made to launch helitaxi service to the Himani Chamunda temple and basic amenities like drinking water, electricity and accommodation facilities would be developed near the area. Dhumal said that the state government has been developing tourism as an industry and added that schemes like ‘Home Stay’ and ‘Har Gaon Ki Kahani’ were being implemented to promote lesser known destinations, in order to boost Rural Tourism, among domestic and international travellers.
