Australia's Qantas Airways said today that it will carry out inspections on its entire A380 fleet for wing cracks after European air safety officials extended checks to all superjumbos worldwide. "We will comply fully with the directive," a Qantas spokesperson said.
On Wednesday, the airline said it had grounded one A380 for up to a week after engineers found 36 cracks in its wings during detailed inspections following a flight hit by turbulence.

NEWS| Qantas cuts India, China services
Australia’s Qantas is to cut direct flights from Sydney to China’s Beijing and from Melbourne to Shanghai, but will increase flights between Sydney and Shanghai.
It also will cut direct flights from Australia to Mumbai, India, with all services to Mumbai to operate via Singapore from mid-May.
It also will withdraw from the domestic New Zealand market and hand those services to sister airline Jetstar, which has already signalled a fares war.
