At 634 meters height, the world's tallest tower has been completed near Asakusa, one of Tokyo's famous spots. A 60-second ride inside Japan's fastest elevator takes visitors up to the 350 meter Tokyo Sky Tree Observation Deck providing a view of Tokyo. On clear days, Mount Fiji is visible as well.
The Observation Deck can hold up to two thousand people,and is outfitted with facilities such as a restaurant and cafĂ© area for visitors who want to spend time taking in the sights in a casual setting. Other popular features include the glass floor segment which allows visitors to really experience the thrill of being 350 meters in the air. Visitors can also go up another hundred meters to the 450 meter tall Tokyo Sky Tree Observation Corridor which features a view of the Pacific Ocean spreading out from the Boso Peninsula, approximately 75 kilometres out. The design of the Tokyo Sky Tree Tower is a blend of modern and traditional Japanese form, which employs the most advanced technological developments. The three leg structure of Tokyo Sky Tree in contrast to the four leg approach taken by the Eiffel Tower of Paris, takes up less space and is solid structurally like a camera tripod. This structure features a unique Japanese curve design called "sori and mukuri" (inward and outward curves), a characteristic seen in traditional Japanese architecture like temple and shrine architecture. The curve is reminiscent of a Japanese samurai sword curve, and it gives the tower a beautiful design with a strong structure and shape. Underneath the gigantic tree is a commercial district that has been dubbed "Tokyo Solamachi” (Tokyo Sky Town) as well as a complex that houses a planetarium offering an exciting trip amongst the stars and a sea-life aquarium. The opening hours of the attraction are from 8:00 am to 10:00 pm; and it is a two minute journey by the Tobu Sky Tree Line from Asakusa Station to Tokyo Sky Tree Station, or about 15 minutes walk from Asakusa Station. The best way for the Indian travel trade to ensure travellers get an opportunity to visit the tower is to reserve a package tour offered by a Japanese travel agency with a Tokyo Sky Tree option included or use a stay-over plan that comes with Tokyo Sky Tree entrance.
