With an aim to attract foreign tourists' to the state, the Madhya Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (MPTDC) has sought the state government's approval to hold a road show in London. We want to increase the foreign tourist arrivals to the state drastically, the official added. He said around 2.50 lakh foreigners visited MP in 2010 and this number went up to 2.69 lakh in 2011. "We have already put in place a strategy to woo foreign tourists to the state. We have issued an advertisement to Italian and German magazines as part of our plan," an official said. Some officials have said that MPTDC is developing the existing foreign tourists' favoured destinations like Khajuraho and Orchha temples in Chhatarpur and Tikamgarh districts respectively, and Sanchi stupas in Raisen district of the state. An amusement park will come up in Khajuraho and a golf course at Sanchi in Raisen district whereas Orchha would be given a face lift, they added.
