Online travel company MakeMyTrip has appointed Sanket Atal as its Chief Technology Officer to head the Technology Development and Support teams. Atal has over two decades experience in software development and managing large organisations. He has experience of building highly scalable complex platforms and applications.

Prior to this, he headed Product Development and Operations for Oracle for its Server Technology division with teams in Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Noida. Atal was one of the founders of Oracle’s R&D centre in Portland, Oregon. He started his career in developing a parallel Relational Database Management System (RDBMS) at Informix Software Inc. Atal has a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science & Mathematics from Cornell University and MS in Computer Science from University of Wisconsin Madison with an MBA from University of Oregon.
