The Austrian National Tourist Office (ANTO) will re-launch its online training programme, ‘Austrian Certified Travel Specialist' (ACTS) for travel trade in India this month. Currently, ACTS has 2110 specialist registered under this programme. “The re-launched programme will be an interactive one with 15 modules, especially customised for Indian travel trade. We will send mailers to travel agents and tour operators informing them about the programme.
The aim of the programme is familiarise the travel trade with new products and destinations and participants are expected to score 70 per cent marks to pass a module. Top 15 ACTS will be invited for a week long FAM trip to Austria,” informed Christine Mukharji, Market Manager – India, ANTO. ANTO recently conducted a workshop in Mumbai, Chennai and Delhi. A large delegation comprising of ANTO representatives and suppliers from Austria participated in the workshops. Tourism boards of Zell am See Kaprun and Ischgl were the new additions for this year's workshop. Other participants included, Renuka Shorey, Representative, Western Region – India, ANTO; Mag. Renate Ecker, Managing Director, Zell am See Kaprun Tourismus GmbH; Angelika Grzebyta, Media Relations, Vienna Tourist Board; Christiane Gasser, Head of Channel Marketing, D Swarovski Tourism Services GmbH; Nicholas Boerdrukker, Manager – International Marketing & PR, Asia, CEE, USA, UK, Innsbruck Tourismus and Toovey Abraham, CEO, Austrian Tours; Maritta Jungamann, Incoming, Tourismusverband Paznaun – Ischgl and Gunda Bleckmann, Sales & Marketing Manager, Salzburg. According to Mukharji, ANTO is looking at tapping Ahmedabad and Kolkata market this year and has allocated 500,000 Euros for marketing and promotion activities in India.
