Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) has launched its largest Vivanta by Taj property at Yeshwantpur in Bengaluru. The hotel has 327 keys and a banquet area spread across 18,000 square feet (capacity 1000 pax). Located at Tumkur Road, the property has been set-up with an investment of approximately Rs 230 crore. IHCL has partnered with RNS infrastructure Pvt Ltd, Karnataka for the property. Vivanta by Taj - Yeshwantpur Bangalore is the third Vivanta by Taj in Bengaluru and its 21st, globally.
Raymond N Bickson, MD and CEO, IHCL said, “Vivanta by Taj supports the company’s objective of achieving growth through domestic dominance. Yeshwantpur has the potential to emerge as a strategic suburb of Bengaluru linking the new international airport to the corridor of development planned along Mysore Road, thus making it the ultimate location for Vivanta by Taj - Yeshwantpur Bangalore.”
Speaking with TravelBiz Monitor, Veer Vijay Singh, COO-Upper Upscale Hotels, IHCL said, “We are happy to be back in the city with another hotel after a year. The city is growing and has seen tremendous development in the past few years. Bengaluru is the first city in India with all the IHCL brands. Yeshwantpur is the largest industrial area in Bengaluru and has lot of potential and scope in terms of business.”
According to Deepa Misra Harris, Vice President, Marketing, IHCL, “The district of Yeshwantpur is located between the Bengaluru international airport and developing areas in the city. Due to the location, we foresee demand from corporates and MICE segments. In addition, we shall also market the property as a getaway destination.”
