A roadmap for the co-existence of tourism and conservation of tigers will need to be drawn, said Subodh Kant Sahai, Minister for Tourism, Government of India, referring to the recent ban by the Supreme Court of India on tourism in core areas of tiger reserves.
"We cannot compromise on the conservation of tigers in the country. We need to chalk out a way so that both tiger conservation and tourism can happen simultaneously," Sahai was quoted as saying in a report News Track India. "In a country with a population of over a billion, only 60 lakh tourists visit every year. We need to double the number of inbound tourists," he added.Click here to see the original article>
