The Position:
•Directly responsible to control the performance of a team through supervisors. Monitor and plan staff’s training and development maximising productivity of each individual member and hence ensuring that additional numbers of passengers can be absorbed with a minimum increase of manpower.
• Plan and control the day to day functions of the Reservations unit. Ensure a successful and smooth operation exceeding clients’ needs through maximum utilisation of resources allocated.
• Actively maintain contact with the Tour Operator companies and Emirates outstations in order to enhance rapport whist obtaining objective feedback and channelling it to Management such that Arabian Adventures can proactively plan in order to continue to exceed client expectations. This includes the responsibility of monitoring that payment terms and conditions set in the agreement with the principals are adhered to.
• Lead, collate and analyse developments in the destination as well as in Arabian Adventures products and services, in order to support generation of incremental revenue by creative and up-selling techniques. This also includes supporting and handling FAM trips in order to promote the destination and Arabian Adventures products and services.
• In liaison with Reservations Services Manager, provide full and comprehensive reservation service to all the Tour Operators and Emirates Network Offices world-wide in order to maximise the visibility of Arabian Adventures products while generating income as per guidelines set by Senior Management.
• On an ongoing basis, identify, initiate and implement enhancement in existing processes in order that it improves the units’ efficiency as well as effectiveness, thus reducing costs by improving performance and providing superior level of service to the principals. This includes continuous coordination with other units and Emirates’ departments to critically evaluate and recommend enhancements to existing IT systems as well as any new systems in the future.
• Maintain excellent relationship with suppliers in order to obtain positive response to any queries made on behalf of Arabian Adventures and to enhance the company’s image as well as facilitate the handling of any special requirements and situations, such that Arabian Adventures retains its edge over its competitors.
• Monitor and analyse all complaints including those received in-resort and provide analysis to Management in order to take appropriate action, internally or externally.
• In conjunction with Recruitment, initiate selection and recruitment of staff as and when required to support FIT or DSO-NPSD units.
• Responsible to schedule and implement efficient team’s rosters, including 24/7 operation shift pattern and Duty Officer round the clock tasks, of Arabian Adventures Reservations at office base and/or other locations such as Dubai airport (For EK DSO-NPSD product unit).
Salary & Benefits:
We offer an attractive tax-free salary, paid in Dirhams, the local currency of the UAE. The Dirham is linked to the Special Drawing Right of the International Monetary Fund. It has been held constant against the US dollar since the end of 1980 at a mid-rate of approximately US$1= Dh3.66. Experience and Qualifications:
• Graduate (12+3) with a minimum of 5 years experience in travel industry of which a minimum of 2 years should have been at a supervisory level within Tour Operating / DMC hotel industry.
• A thorough and complete knowledge and understanding of the destination and the working of Tour Operators, DMC 'Airline Land Products' and local suppliers.
• Proven ability to work independently with minimum of supervision and strong communication skills both written and spoken. Good negotiation abilities.
• The job holder is required to be on 24 hours call to ensure that any problems are immediately attended to and may have to work over the weekend / public holidays if required.
