Singapore Airlines has announced the commencement of three additional services from Chennai, taking the total number to 10 times a week. In addition to the night flights seven days a week, there will be morning flights every Sunday, Wednesday and Friday from Chennai to Singapore.



The airline will use the Boeing 777-200 aircraft with a two-class configuration - 30 Business and 293 Economy Class seats - for this service, offering more connection options to several cities in the carrier's global network especially Australia, New Zealand and the north Asia region.

The airline will switch to a three-class seat arrangement from October 2007.

Aiming to strengthen its business in south India, Singapore Airlines on Wednesday announced a slew of measures that include additional flights, special discounts and a revamped menu.


"Three more services have been added to the existing seven, on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. Silk Air, a wholly owned subsidiary of Singapore Airlines, will start services from Coimbatore to Singapore from October 28," said Bharat Mahadevan, regional manager of Singapore Airlines.


The Airline will now offer South Indian cuisine for its passengers on the Chennai-Singapore route and has also come up with a Rs 5,555 round trip scheme, bookings for which will start tomorrow.
