Indian metros continued to remain popular tourist attractions for international travellers, with New Delhi emerging top among favourites, according to a recent study by the accommodation booking portal Hotels.com.
"Indian metros dominate the top 10 favourite destinations list amongst international travellers. The capital city of India, New Delhi bags the number one spot as the most preferred destination for overseas travellers, followed by Mumbai," says a latest Hotel Price Index (HPI) report by the website.
While India's beach capital - Goa - is the third most favourite destination among foreigners, southern cities of Bengaluru and Chennai ranked fourth and fifth followed by the Pink City of Jaipur, respectively.
When it comes to Indians planning a leisure trip abroad, South East Asian destinations clearly dominate the top 10 favourite spots in the list.
The report reveals that the great value rates available in Bangkok make it the most preferred international destination amongst Indians.
While Singapore is at number two on the list, Pattaya stood fourth, followed by Hong Kong which is ranked fifth, Phuket at seventh position and Kuala Lumpur on the ninth spot.
