The Odisha Tourism Development Corporation (OTDC) today launched a Buddhist circuit tour package in a bid to promote the state’s offerings for Religious Tourism. Visitors to Puri and Bhubaneswar can opt for the Buddhist circuit tour of Odisha spread across three contiguous hill-tops: Lalitgiri, Ratnagiri and Udayagiri.
The customised tour service was flagged off from OTDC-managed Panthanivas Hotel in Puri, today. Under the itinerary, tourists will be provided A/C transport, food, entry to museum and Buddhist sites, and a guide. Tourists can board the A/C coach either from Puri or Bhubaneswar. From Puri, the cost of the entire tour will be Rs 880 per head, while the cost is Rs 620 per head from Bhubaneswar. The tour service will be operated every Saturday, Sunday and Tuesday. After the sight-seeing at Udayagiri and Ratnagiri, tourists can stay and dine at Toshali Ratnagiri, a property managed by Toshali Resorts International. The hotel will be fully operational within four months and will have 20 rooms (including two suites), a coffee shop, a swimming pool, a health club, a spa, a library and a conference hall with 60 pax capacity after renovation. After visiting the heritage site of Lalitgiri, the group will leave for Bhubaneswar and Puri at around 4:30 pm. “Buddhist Tourism in Odisha will open a new window to boost domestic as well as inbound tourism to the country. Soon, we will be providing accommodation services at Lalitgiri, Udayagiri and Pathrajpur so that tourists can experience the beauty of the place by spending more time here,” said T Banambar Patra, Founder and Managing Director, Toshali Resorts International.
