Charson Advisory Services Pvt. Ltd. has introduced an annual B2B event, ‘Travel Outbound Workshop' (TOW), which focuses on creating a platform for representatives of niche tourism products and destinations to interact with the Indian travel trade. The first edition of (TOW) was a three-city event covering Mumbai, Bengaluru and New Delhi and was held from February 6-9, 2012.
Around 40 sellers representing 15 countries including niche destinations like Georgia, Slovenia, Croatia, Vietnam, Seychelles, Peru and Chile participated in TOW, which was attended by nearly 200 travel trade professionals in Mumbai. The Workshop also witnessed participation of several premium cruise operators such as Silver Sea Expeditions; Poseidon Arctic Voyages (Arctic Circle Cruises), Antarctica XXI (Antarctic Circle Cruises) etc. Speaking about the initiative, Carl Vaz, Chairman & CEO, Charson Advisory Services said, “The USP of the workshop is the focus on bringing sellers from niche and new countries and giving them an opportunity to make presentations about their destinations and products. It’s a table-top B2B event with one-on-one interactions. All registrations were done online and invite was restricted to senior officials, owners and contracting heads of travel agency, tour operators, MICE specialist and cruise/golf promotion companies. This is not a platform for educating the front line staff but a networking platform for decision makers, who will transact business.” Vaz informed that for the next couple of years the TOW will be held in Mumbai, Bengaluru and New Delhi but at a later date may look at conducting the event in Hyderabad and Chennai.
