In a bid to promote its products and services in the Indian market, Dubai-based Destination Management Company (DMC), Lama Tours, is planning to conduct road shows in Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru in April 2012. The aim of the road shows is to showcase new products, attractive summer deals and the company’s new brand logo. Leading hotel chains from Dubai such as Hyatt, Marriot, Atlantis the Palm, Jumeirah, Kempinski, Radisson, InterContinental Hotels and Crown Plaza, besides a host of other local hotels from the Emirates are expected to participate in the road shows.
“We have been operating for the past 15 years and have diversified into many areas. And so, we decided that it was time to go for an image change. Our new logo portrays a an image of Lama with the red colour representing positivity, a globe on the top representing our global presence and the golden brown representing the heritage, warmth, welcome and hospitality of Dubai, our headquarters. The new logo was designed by our in-house marketing company, Arabian Representations,” informed Kulwant Singh, Managing Director, Lama Tours. Talking about other developments in India, Singh said that the company has put on hold plans to set-up 20 luxury tents at Sam Sand Dunes near Jaisalmer in Rajasthan, which were slated to be operational by September last year. According to Singh, the company is expecting a growth of 35 per cent in Indian travellers by end of this year and has high hopes for the Dubai Shopping Festival. “We expect to have over 35,000 Indian visitors during the 45 days of the shopping festival,” stated Singh.
