Ventura AirConnect gets Cessna aircraft to ferry air taxi passengers


Adding more facilities to the recently launched air taxi service, Ventura AirConnect has purchased a second Cessna plane, according to a report in the Daily Pioneer. Ventura AirConnect, the service providing firm, would start offering tourism services as soon as the necessary permissions are obtained from the DGCA.

The Madhya Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation (MPSTDC) has started air taxi service in cooperation with Ventura, a private company. Initially, the four cities of Bhopal, Indore, Jabalpur and Gwalior have been connected with air taxi. Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Chief Minister, Govt of Madhya Pradesh inaugurated the service from Bhopal's Raja Bhoj airport, which has recently been upgraded to international airport for direct flights for Haj pilgrims.

Pradeep Agarwal, Chairman, Ventura said that the nine-seaters would be soon be upgraded to 18 seat aircraft. He also told the gathering that brand new planes would be put into service as air taxis for the passengers of Madhya Pradesh.

Company officials said that they were planning to provide connectivity to places like Pachmarhi, Khajuraho, Kanha and Bandhavgarh national park to tap their tourism potential. "It is for the first time in the country that air taxi services will be provided by any state in the tourism sector," a tourism corproation spokesman said. Two nine-seater aircraft have been deployed for the service.
