Nature Interpretation Centre near Sukhna Lake in Chandigarh to focus on promoting Ecotourism

With an aim to promote Ecotourism in Chandigarh, the proposed Nature Interpretation Centre at the end of Sukhna Lake will focus on research on conservation of flora. It will have pictorial display panel of migratory birds, resident birds and other rare species with the highlights of their habitat. Each panel will display information about the birds habitat, season of migration, images and other interesting features. According to a report in Times of India, the centre will have an audio-video media birds interactive display where visitors can have one way interaction with birds. The natural voice of birds of different species can be heard. The centre will also have viewing galleries. New interactive panels with three dimensions will also be added to disseminate education and awareness on key aspects of nature conservation. Starting from forests and wildlife, the galleries will unfold many facts on biodiversity, floral richness of Sukhna Lake and migratory birds.
