Travelodge has announced that Adam Parsons is to join the budget hotel chain as its new director of communications on 28 June.
A former BBC sports correspondent, Parsons is currently director of sport liaison at the British Olympic Association (BOA), which he joined in early 2009.
In his new role with Travelodge, Parsons will report directly to the hotel chain's newly-appointed chief executive officer Guy Parsons, who will take up the position on 1 July.
Guy Parsons said: "I am confident that Adam's high level experience at the BOA, combined with his broadcast and journalism expertise, will help strengthen our communications function even further."
BOA chief executive Andy Hunt added: "Adam has played an important role at the BOA, notably in creating stronger ties between our organisation and the athletes and sports we serve."
