Lufthansa to resume services between Frankfurt- Bogotá effective October 31, 2010

With the introduction of its 2010/2011 winter timetable, Lufthansa will resume flights to the Colombian capital, Bogotá effective October 31, 2010. The airline will operate five flights per week between Frankfurt and Bogotá, operated by an A340.  Lufthansa served Bogotá, which is situated in the northwestern corner of South America, until 2002. Once this service is resumed, Lufthansa will offer its customers a total of 60 flights per week to four destinations in South America.

Axel Hilgers, Director- South Asia, Lufthansa German Airlines said, "Colombia is one of the growth regions in South America and an interesting market for our Indian customers. This winter, Bogotá will become the fourth destination in South America after Buenos Aires, São Paulo and Caracas to be served by Lufthansa."
