NEWS | Tourism Malaysia wins Best Food & Drink 2013 International Award
Tourism Malaysia has bagged the Best Food & Drink 2013 International Award at the Lonely Planet Magazine India Awards held at ITC Grand Central, Parel in Mumbai recently, as per a release.
Manoharan Periasamy, Director, Tourism Malaysia, said, “Tourism Malaysia is honoured to have been conferred with this esteemed recognition, which will further motivate us to intensify our efforts in positioning Malaysia as the world’s leading Food & Drink destination, while promoting its attractions. We Malaysians are a lucky lot. In our multiracial community, as a result of historical migrations and Malaysia's geographical advantage, Malaysia's culinary style is a mixture of Malays, Chinese, Indian, Thai and Arabian cuisines - to name a few. This resulted in a symphony of flavours, making Malaysian cuisines highly exotic.”

NEWS | Kerala tourism ad wins award for conservation message

Kerala Tourism's print campaign on World Tourism Day encouraging travellers to save precious rain forests through their simple actions has won the 'Olive Crown Award' for communicating sustainability.
The print advertisement released on September 27 last year showing how a simple act like postponing a hotel laundry could help sustain rain forests, lifted the Award in the Press Services category, a state tourism press release said today.

Spicejet.com has won the Best Website Award at the recently concluded 'World Low CostAirlines Asia Pacific Conference' at Singapore. The award was given by Dale Lawrence, Director - Corporate Communications, Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) on January 28, 2010 in Singapore. On behalf of SpiceJet, it was received by Chief Commercial Officer, Samyukth Sridharan and Chief Technology Officer, Virender Pal.

AWARDS| AI, Jet, IndiGo win
Indian aviation majors -- Jet airways, Air India, IndiGo airlines -- have won the country's most respected and premium travel and tourism industry awards - the Galileo Express TravelWorld Awards 2008.
Jet Airways, India's premier international airline, was honoured with the 'Best Domestic Full Service Airline' award at a glittering function at the Grand Hotel here recently. This was the airline's sixth consecutive victory in this category, in as many years.
Air India won the award of 'Best International Airlines (Short Haul)' category while IndiGo was adjudged the Best Low-cost carriers. The Britain's national carrier, British Airways won the 'Best International Airlines (long haul) award.
The awards were given away by Civil Aviation Minister Praful Patel at a function in which senior hoteliers, airline officials and other distinguished members of the travel trade community were present.
The Galileo Express TravelWorld Awards were incorporated in 2003 by Galileo India Pvt Ltd and Express TravelWorld, a travel business magazine from The Express Group with an objective to promote professionalism and encourage the industry to attain higher levels of performance.

AWARDS| IndiGo wins best low-fare carrier award
IndiGo, a low-fare domestic airline, was awarded "Best Low-Fare Carrier in India for the year 2007" by the Air Passengers Association of India (APAI).
President and CEO of IndiGo Bruce Ashby said: "I am absolutely delighted that our efforts to run an affordable, reliable, hassle-free airline have been recognized by the people who matter most - the travellers".
The APAI conducted the poll among frequent flyers and its members at Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai and Kochi airport during Feb 15-29, 2008, with more than 1600 respondents. Apart from passenger responses, over 400 online responses were received from members of APAI.
The award is based on scores received on six criteria: value for money, punctuality, connectivity, safety, refunds and baggage handling.
