
Right location, free Wifi connection and competitive rates are among top priorities for business travellers from Asia-Pacific making hotel bookings, according to a recent survey. The choice of hotels among Asian business men is based on the proximity of the property to the business avenue (53%), followed by presence of a free Wifi connection (49%) and competitive rates (46%).
The Accor Asia-Pacific Business Traveler Survey 2012 also shows that across the region, Hong Kong is the top business travel destination followed by Singapore.
Thailand features as the rising star of the top business destination category in the survey, gaining positive feedback from respondents in China, Hong Kong, India and Singapore, according to a report by Hindustan Times.
In terms of spending, with an average of $468 per trip, Singaporean travellers have the highest hotel budget in the region, followed by Indians, spending an average of $339 per trip.
The survey was carried out between July 10-16, among 2,500 travellers from nine countries in the region including Australia, China, Hong Kong, India, Japan, New Zealand, South Korea, Singapore and Taiwan. The respondents made business trips during the first semester of 2012.
Accor is the biggest hotel chain in Europe and present in 92 countries with more than 4,400 hotels and 530,000 rooms.
