Virgin Atlantic recently announced that it will start flights from Delhi to New York’s John F Kennedy (JFK) International Airport via London Heathrow Airport from October 28, 2012. The new service will complement the airline’s existing same-day connection between Delhi and Newark via London Heathrow Airport.
Under the new service, flights arriving from Delhi will land at Heathrow Airport shortly before 6.00 pm, taking off later for JFK Airport at 7.25 pm and will then land in New York around 11.30 pm according to the local time. On the return journey, flights will leave from JFK Airport at 8.40 am and land at Heathrow at 7.40 pm as per local time. Stephen King, General Manager - India, Virgin Atlantic, said, “India is one of our key markets and, along with launching Mumbai later this year, we are looking forward to connecting more passengers from Delhi to JFK and Newark. The schedule has been designed to enable passengers from India’s capital to connect quickly to New York.”
