In a bid to make tourism experience memorable and attractive, the Department of Tourism, Govt. of Uttar Pradesh (UP) has decided to tie-up with a private company to provide helium hot-air balloon ride facility for tourists in the state, informed department officials. A decision to this effect was taken
recently, as per a TOI report. The spots selected for this project include Shilpgram Agra, which is about a kilometre from the Taj Mahal; Gulistan parking complex near Fatehpur Sikiri and Ravidas Ghat in Varanasi. Sources added that except for India, the balloon joy ride is available in a number of European and American tourist destinations. Around six to 20 people can take a 20-minute balloon ride at a safe distance of 150-300 metres above the ground.
