NEWS |Cox & Kings to promote Hurtigruten cruises in India

karan_anand.jpgkathryn_beadle.jpgNorwegian cruise line Hurtigruten is making its foray into the Indian market with Cox & Kings, which is promoting their cruise products. Karan Anand- Head, Relationships, Cox & Kings Ltd said, “Since 1983, Hurtigruten ships have been a vital link between the cities, towns and hamlets in Norway, carrying local passengers, freight and guests. A voyage on a Hurtigruten ship is the best way to experience Norway. The voyage will take travellers through fjords,
waterways and ports that other ships cannot reach. Hurtigruten’s friendly staff and personalised experiences on board the ship are its USP’s and we definitely see potential in the India market for the cruiseline, though it is not very large at the moment.” Anand also revealed that Cox & Kings plans to tap metro cities in India. Described as the ‘World’s Most Beautiful Sea Voyage’, highlights of the Norwegian Coastal Voyage include fjords, waterways and ports that other ships cannot reach. With demand for the Northern Lights higher than ever, Hurtigruten has also launched its 2012/13 winter brochure, with dedicated Northern Lights itineraries. The 2012/13 winter brochure includes Astronomy voyage departures accompanied by expert lecturers, unique experiences on the Arctic Adventure departures including a night in a Snow suite at the Kirkenes Snow Hotel. There are excursions to areas seldom seen by tourists on departures operating entirely within the Arctic Circle, Dog Sledging and other winter adventure activities, sailing through Vesteralen and Lofoten Islands and the Seven Sister Mountains. Kathryn Beadle, Managing Director, Hurtigruten UK said, “We are yet again seeing an enormous demand from customers who want to experience the Northern Lights this winter, which shows no sign of decreasing.” The Hurtigruten fleet consists of a total of thirteen Hurtigruten ships, with eleven operating on the Norwegian coast, one sailing to Antarctica & Greenland and two to Spitsbergen.
