Mars Enterprises recently re-branded and launched The Gordon House Suites on Sahar Road in Mumbai as Waterstones Hotel under their new brand Waterstones Luxury Boutique Hotel. Waterstones Hotel, together with Waterstones Club, which is a fully integrated part of the hotel, will focus on corporate travellers. The hotel features 85 theme-based rooms and nine suites.
Bruno Loosli, CEO, Mars Enterprises
revealed that there are plans to expand the brand’s portfolio to include serviced apartments and an office tower, called Waterstones Residences and Waterstones Tower respectively, in the next two and a half years. These will be built adjacent to the hotel. According to Sanjay Narang, President, Mars Enterprises, Waterstones Residences will feature 600 keys and will be priced at about Rs 10,000 - 12,000 per night, unless the market witnesses a change. “Keeping in mind the fact that Mumbai largely witnesses corporate travellers, we are looking to introduce long-stay residences and extensive meeting facilities through the upcoming establishments. Waterstones Residences will have a capacity of 600 keys, but we will start by operating 200 and gauge the response before going forward,” said Narang. With regards to expansion plans for the Waterstones Luxury Boutique Hotel brand, Narang said that they would observe the response in Mumbai before moving to other cities. “We are in talks with The Embassy Group in Bengaluru who have shown interest in taking our brand but nothing is concrete yet,” he informed. Speaking about the The Waterstones Club, Narang stated that it will cater to a closed group of 300 members, largely consisting of their loyal customers. “Around 90 per cent of our hotel’s clients have been repeat customers and we expect that to continue with Waterstones Hotel and Residences as well. The establishments will feature loyalty programmes with points that are redeemable by members and their families at Waterstones Club,” he added.
