The Union Budget 2012-13, rolled out by Pranab Mukherjee, Union Minister for Finance, Government of India earlier today, proposed a total expenditure of Rs 1,282.98 crore for the tourism sector in India. Of this, Rs 1,210 crore is proposed as planned expenditure, and Rs 72.98 crore as non-planned spend. This has been increased from the central plan outlay of 2011-12 where Rs 1,170 crore was proposed in the budget. This figure was revised to Rs 1,115 crore for the financial year, with Rs 1,050 crore and Rs 65 crore as planned and non-planned expenditures, respectively.
