Online cab rental service provider and aggregator, GetMeCab, is planning to launch an online booking platform for Indian travel agents and tour operators. The portal would allow agents to book cab rentals and cab packages for their customers. The company also recently launched a mobile website which allows users to make outstation and local bookings as well as airport transfers on the go.

Co-Founder & Director, GetMeCab said, “The inventory in this industry is highly fragmented and is not available online. Hence, there are a good number of operational challenges and this is deterring online travel agents from entering aggressively in this market. We are looking to consolidate this inventory, organise it in a more usable form and then tie up with OTAs at the right time.” Elaborating on the features of the mobile website, Lakhotia informed, “All a user has to do is type GetMeCab.com on a mobile browser and they can then make a booking in less than 60 seconds via the mobile site. With the smartphone market growing aggressively in India, a lot of users are growing comfortable with using their mobile phones for surfing the internet and making transactions. The launch of the WAP site is a boon for those who want to book their cab requirements on the move.” The site is designed in HTML5 and works across multiple mobile platforms - Android, iOS, Blackberry and Symbian. He also revealed that the company is looking to expand its presence in tier-II and tier-III cities in the country. GetMeCab currently has presence in Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Pune, Gurgaon, Faridabad and Ghaziabad.
