Hyatt Hotels Corporation recently opened the 327-room Hyatt Regency Chennai. The hotel includes Lobby Lounge, all-day dining restaurant Spice Market, Stix - a Chinese restaurant and Biscotti-gourmet Deli as well as more than 20,000 square feet of
convention and event space. It is located on Anna Salai and caters to
business and leisure travellers.
Speaking on the occasion of the hotel’s opening, Peter Fulton, Managing Director, Hyatt International - Southwest Asia, said, “This Indian port city has become the destination of choice for leading brands across industries. It is a key business hub for the corporate traveller. This strategic move to bring the Hyatt Regency brand to Chennai will introduce and deliver our authentic hospitality to this market space and ensure that our loyal customers have better connectivity across the globe, as Chennai is clearly an important crossroad for many people.”
The Hyatt Regency Chennai also houses one of the largest collections of publicly displayed art installations in the country created by more than 40 prominent international and national artists. The artwork is custom-made around the concept of madhu, kriti and vriti that speaks of the symbiotic relationship that the bee shares with a flower. The hotel is yet to open the Italian restaurant Focaccia, 365 AS Bar as well as The Siddh Spa.
