NEWS| India's Jet Airways Cleared for Takeoff

India's Jet Airways announced today it has received regulatory clearance from China and will begin its daily San Francisco-Shanghai-Mumbia service June 14.
The one-way introductory fare hasn't been set yet, but could be around $700-$750 to Mumbai, and $550-$600 to Shanghai.

"In the last nine months, we've started 11 international destinations," said Jet Airways general manager for business developer Anu Vivek. "The expansion plans are really big."

Jet Airways, which will operate Boeing 777-300 ER aircraft on the flights, hopes to tap into the growing demand for travel to Asia, particularly among Bay Area residents going to the region for business and pleasure.
