Budget airline AirAsia will fly daily to Trichy in South India from Kuala Lumpur effective October, offering a two-way flight for Rs 5,000 or nearly $125 inclusive of airport tax.AirAsia chief executive officer Tony Fernandez told Tamil daily Makkal Osai in an interview published on Wednesday that the flights would provide more opportunities for budget travellers to fly to India.
Malaysian Airlines, the national carrier, has also increased the number of its flights to and from India in recent years with tourist traffic growing at a phenomenal pace, The Star newspaper said.
