"Sitting in the same sedentary position on long-haul trips would make [anyone] feel stiff and achy afterwards," says Belinda Earl, chief executive of Jaeger. "I think it's a really good idea to have a massage when you land at the other side: it helps you to focus and get through those days when you have back-to-back meetings."
Spas are popping up in airports across the globe. "Anywhere around the world these days, you'll be able to walk into an executive lounge and find a spa environment that will help to pep you up on arrival or relax you before a late-night flight," says Ms Earl. Heathrow has the Cowshed Spa in Virgin Atlantic's clubhouse lounge and the Urban Retreat spa as well as BA's Elemis. Demand is high - Mr Harrington says that in its first week the BA Executive lounge spa served 250 people a day.
