MDLR Airlines ready to take off on April 27

THE MDLR Airlines has finally started bookings for its flights between Chandigarh and Delhi. President of MDLR Airlines Koustav Dhar confirmed that the airlines is scheduled to start operations from the 27th of this month.

"We have started the booking of tickets for the April-27 flight from today and are getting tremendous response. We are starting with the Chandigarh-Delhi flight, and would extend it to Ranchi and then Kolkata in a phased manner," said Dhar.

Chandigarh-Delhi-Ranchi-Kolkata from May 16.

As of now, MDLR is offering very competitive prices as part of its promotional strategy till May 2.

An MDLR executive said the airline is charging Rs 2,000 for the club class while Rs 1,000 is being charged for the economy class. This is inclusive of taxes.

The prices seem to be attracting customers in droves and, according to sources, its morning flight to Delhi on April 30 is already fully booked.

MDLR Airlines would operate six days a week with no services on Sunday.

The airline is using Jet AVRO - RJ 70 planes that have seating capacity of 70 passengers.

With the suspension of Indus Airways operations, MDLR is expected to receive a tremendous response. Theother factor that goes in the favour of MDLR Airlines is the morning time slot.

"We have a morning flight at 7.30 am from Chandigarh to Delhi and a return flight from Delhi to Chandigarh is scheduled for 6 pm with its arrival here scheduled at 6.40 pm. This makes it convenient for anyone to return home after a day's work in Delhi and we are sure that this would be the USP of our airline," said an MDLR official.

Also, unlike other airlines that operate here and are based in Delhi, MDLR Airlines aircrafts would be parked at the Chandigarh airport in night.

MDLR is also marketing itself as the region's own airline since the company's owner Gopal K Goel, Chairman and Managing Director, MDLR Airlines hails from Sirsa, Haryana.
