The Union Ministry of Tourism has initiated moves, together with the Union Home Ministry and the External Affairs Ministry, to explore the feasibility of providing "visa-on-arrival" to foreign tourists.
This is aimed at attracting more tourists to "Incredible India", according to Union Tourism Secretary A.K. Mishra.
"We want to capitalise on the current boom in the economy and initiate tourism-friendly measures with the help of stakeholders in the hospitality sector, travel-trade, and tour operators to further accelerate the growth of overseas visitors and sustain the buoyancy in the hospitality sector,"
